LAKE IMPROVEMENT BOARD FOR BEAR LAKE
MAY 20, 2010
Members in Attendance: Don Brisbin – Chairman, Bob Yates – Secretary, Ken Hilliard – Board of Commissioners, Carver Edwards – Treasurer, Bryan Harris – Pleasanton Twp Rep. and Board guest Mike Soloman – Lakeshore Environment Rep.
Minutes from April 22, 2010 read – motion by Bryan Harris – second by Ken Hilliard to approve – passed.
Treasurer Report: Current Balance as of 05/20/2010 is $139,508.69 (full disclosure attached). Motion by Ken Hilliard - second by Bryan Harris to approve – motion passed.
Discussion also followed that a less comprehensive report be provided in the future.
Public Comment: Suggested that the long term budget be reconfigured based on early success – decided to table until Jennifer Jones next visit with test results from lake.
Old Business: Phragmities treatment at Blarney Castle site was brought up – appears to be successful.
New Business:
(1) The issue of phone polls was discussed – illegal – will no longer make it a practice.
(2) Jennifer Jones will conduct grid matrix survey next week – (Tuesday – Wednesday) weather permitting.
(3) No new bills.
(4) Discussion regarding availability of Phosphorous Free fertilizer locally – will be investigated.
Public Comment: Discussion regarding water testing by Jones concern there may be duplication of effort and expense.
