The Regular Meeting of the Bear Lake Village Council was called to order by President Glen Moore at 7:30 p.m. at the Bear Lake Village Hall.

Council Present: Carver Edwards, Howard Higley, Robert Howe, Don Hyrns, Glen Moore, Gary McBride, Larry Mortenson, Michelle Mortenson and Ron Ronning.

Absent: Ricke Guerne

Guests: Joanne Schroeder, Don Raiff, Bob Yates and Dave Adams.

Minutes: The May 2007 minutes were approved as presented.

Treasurer's Report: Motion by Carver seconded by Bill to approve the treasurer's report. Motion carried

Bills: Motion by Ron seconded by Don to pay the bills as presented. Motion carried.

Guest: Joanne Schroeder (representing the Bear Lake Promoters/Vision Bear Lake) invited council members to the dedication of the Hopkins Park sign during Bear Lake Days. The sign will guide visitors into the park via the steps off U.S.31 by JJ Wittigs. They also plan to put fieldstone and a picnic table at the base of the stairs for visitor/community use.

Guest: Don Raiff gave a general briefing of the special assessment district and some of what it entails to institute the tax. The community is invited to a public gathering to be held on July 16th at the Bear Lake Manor at 5:30 p.m. All three governmental units (Bear Lake Village, Bear Lake Township and Pleasanton Township) will be represented along with an attorney who specializes in setting up Special  Assessment Districts.

Motion by Ron seconded by Don to allow Josh Groenwald to work one weekend in exchange for an old apple computer the Village no longer uses. Motion carried.

Motion by Ron seconded by Carver to send an informational update and reminder sheet to village residents in the next water bill mailing. Motion carried.

Motion by Ron seconded by Larry to send property owners with split residents/renters a water bill for each location. Motion carried.

Motion by Carver seconded by Ron to raise the water off and on charge to $20.00 each. Motion carried.

Discussions held on:
- A hot dog stand vendor in Hopkins Park was not an option at this time.
- Damage to a camper¹s window and the needed repair was discussed with no action taken.
- Bill will get an update on sidewalk repair.
- Don will check on tree behind the flower shop that may need to be taken down.
- Doug and Rose Osborn would like to plant a couple of trees in the park which the council welcomed.
- Lynn Myers would like a tree planted by his home in the fall to replace one that was removed.
- The council briefly touched on the Joint Planning Committee and the need for additional money. No action taken at this time.

Meeting adjourned at 9:05 p.m.
