REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING
June 18, 2008

The Regular Meeting of the Bear Lake Village Council was called to order by President Glen Moore at 7:30 p.m. at the Bear Lake Village Hall.  

Council Present:  Carver Edwards, Howard Higley, Alice Howe, Don Hyrns, Jim Mlejnek, Glen Moore, Larry Mortenson, Michelle Mortenson, Ron Ronning, Donna Ronning and George Schafer. 

Absent:  None

Guests:   None

Minutes:  The May minutes were approved as presented. 

Treasurer's Report:  Motion by Carver seconded by Ron to accept the Treasurer's Report as read. Motion carried.

Building Fund-6,080.45

Equipment Fund-10,625.16

General Fund - 20,886.92

Minor Street Fund - 25,013.07

Major Street Fund  - 45,052.55

Park Fund - 31,591.64

Water Fund - 24,638.41

CD - Honor Bank - $51,072.05

CD - Honor Bank - $30,643.33

Huntington Bank - $78,586.48

Motion by  Ron seconded by Larry to pay bills as presented. Motion carried.

Motion by  Ron seconded by Carver to cancel the Village account at Sam's Club do to inactivity. Motion carried.

Motion by  Ron seconded by Carver to pay bills presented. Motion carried.

Motion by  Don seconded by Carver to cancel maintenance man's insurance and pay him directly at $400 per quarter. Motion carried.

Motion by  Ron seconded by Jim to have additional sand added to the beach in the park. Motion carried.

Motion by  Ron seconded by Larry to purchase No Skateboarding/No dogs on beach signs from Pioneer Press Printing. Motion carried.

Motion by  Carver seconded by Don to allow George to approve the DNR agreement for the dock. Motion carried.  

Discussions Held On: 

- A homeowners complaint regarding their yard was addressed.

- The campground received compliance from the DEQ.

- Some holes were patched on Village roads.

- A new walk behind lawn mower was purchased.

Meeting adjourned at 8:40 p.m.
