Village of Bear Lake The Regular Meeting of the Bear Lake Village Council was called to order by President Glen Moore at 7:30 p.m. at the Bear Lake Village Hall. Council Present: Carver Edwards, Howard Higley, Alice Howe, Glen Moore, Jim Mlejnek, Larry Mortenson, Michelle Mortenson, Ron Ronning, Donna Ronning. Absent: Don Hyrns and George Schafer Guests: Barb Farfsing and Pauline Jaquish Minutes: The August minutes were approved as presented. Treasurer's Report: Motion by Ron seconded by Carver to accept the Treasurer's Report as read. Motion carried.
Motion by Carver seconded by Larry to pay bills as presented. Motion carried. Motion by Motion by Carver seconded by Jim to allow Sparkle in the Park to run from November 29th thru January 2nd. Motion carried. Motion by Motion by Ron seconded by Jim to make the following budget line item changes: Increase Major Street Fund line item "transfer to minor" by $5,000.00 and Increase Minor Street Fund line item "contributions from major" by $5,000.00. Motion carried. Motion by Carver seconded by Ron to transfer $5,000.00 from the Major Street Fund to the Minor Street Fund. Motion carried. Motion by Ron seconded by Larry to close the Building Fund CD and transfer $25,000.00 to the Minor Street Fund. The remaining money will be put into a new CD. Motion carried. Motion by Jim seconded by Carver to pay the Manistee County Road Commission $46,970.22 for street repair. Motion carried. Motion by Larry seconded by Jim to have Galaxy Electrice change the electrical faults to comply with MML recommendations. Motion carried. Discussions Held On: - Possibly implementing a new sidewalk ordinance was discussed. - Howard re-measured streets for an accurate mileage count. - Water tank will be checked this month. - Boat Launch Upgrade agreement was signed and submitted for approval. - Street light repairs were called into Consumers Energy. - A call will be placed to Allied Waste concerning blue trash bags. Meeting adjourned at 8:17 p.m. Bills To Be Paid: Allied Waste $200.92; Kent County Health Dept. $60.00; Staples $33.99; B.L. Hardware $70.25; Auto Value $2.64; Ron Brown & Sons $1,615.08; Thompson Tree & Stump Removal $587.50 and Ron Ronning $20.00. |
